EDUA 5601 Positive Behavior Interventions

POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORT FOR SUCCESSFUL CLASSROOMS
Has classroom management become an endless chore that minimizes teaching time and impedes student engagement and motivation?

If so, this course is for you. Positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) gives you preventive and responsive strategies for addressing off-task behaviors in the classroom and schoolwide. When implemented effectively, it can decrease disruptions, increase instructional time, and improve academic and social outcomes.

In this course, you will create a personalized three-tier system of interventions that you can start implementing in your classroom immediately. You will learn how to build positive relationships with even the most challenging students and create a more collaborative environment in your classroom.

This course gives you the opportunity to brainstorm positive interventions for classroom management so you don’t have to make decisions in the moment. You can use the strategies you develop to establish and maintain a classroom culture that promotes meaningful engagement and motivates students to succeed.
