EDUA 5775 Establish Order in Your Classroom

OPERATION ORGANIZATION: ESTABLISHING ORDER IN YOUR CLASSROOM

Let’s face it. A disorganized classroom quickly eats into instructional time. When desks are in disarray, no one can find supplies, and you’re missing important papers, you end up spending precious time on housekeeping rather than actual learning. However, organization doesn’t have to fall by the wayside when things get hectic. Taking time to set up systems that work for you will not only save you time in the long run, but also help you and your students feel calmer and more focused each day.

In this course, you will learn practical, proven methods for creating and maintaining an organized classroom throughout the school year. You will design a personalized organization plan that will eliminate clutter, create a filing system for important resources and curricular materials, organize key zones (e.g., your desk, the classroom library, computer area), and choose storage options that make sense for your classroom. In addition, you’ll learn how to motivate students to be active participants in your classroom’s organization and take ownership of your shared space.

By the end of this course, your classroom will be organized and optimized for learning, thereby reducing distractions and promoting productivity and a sense of control for yourself and your students.
