TECH TOOLS FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING
Math involves so much more than memorizing formulas and plugging in numbers. It often requires creative thinking and allows people to solve complex problems—both key skills for 21st-century learners. Technology can be a great way to enhance these skills, but the question remains: How can math teachers find the right tools among the sea of options? And how do you incorporate these tools into your existing lesson plans in a way that supports learning (and doesn’t upend your entire curriculum)?
In this course, you will learn how to turn your math classroom into a place where you, your students, and their families embrace 21st-century skills that will help students succeed in the digital age. You’ll review a myriad of resources and tools to see which might work best for your classroom, plus how to use these tools to differentiate your lessons and create engaging and memorable assessments. In addition, you’ll explore how to effectively implement a blended learning strategy, and how to overcome obstacles to incorporating technology into your math instruction.
Using the resources and techniques from this course, you will be equipped to enhance your teaching practices and provide your students with a plethora of opportunities to explore mathematical concepts through technology.
