EDUA 5222 Forgotten Moments in History
FORGOTTEN MOMENTS IN HISTORY
Perhaps one of the most misunderstood facets of American history is the revolutionary period. In history books and popular culture, the Founding Fathers have been elevated to the role of demi-gods in matters of intelligence, motive, and character. Yet, they were men with the same human tendencies and foibles as us all.
In this course, the teacher will learn a more complete history of early America from its founding to its expansion west. The teacher will be exposed to new perspectives on the events and the men integral to the early years of our country. By the end of the course, the teacher will have new strategies and ideas about how to teach about this time period that are inspired by the complexity of the times and history.
