EDUA 5341 Problem Solving in Mathematics

PROBLEM SOLVING IN MATHEMATICS
Many people think of math as plugging numbers into formulas, but that is far from the case. In fact, creative problem-solving is an extremely important part of math that pushes students to think critically, be resilient, and demonstrate content knowledge. As students develop problem-solving skills, they will become more confident—and more successful—in math class and in their daily lives.

This course provides the teacher with information about mathematical problem-solving. The teacher will learn how children solve problems, explore several common problem-solving strategies, and learn ways of incorporating problem-solving into the curriculum on a regular basis.
