EDUA 5750 Guide to Observations & Evaluations
THE HIGHLY EFFECTIVE TEACHER’S GUIDE TO OBSERVATIONS AND EVALUATIONS
Teacher evaluation has taken center stage in the current education landscape. Federal policies, accountability pressures, and ever-changing local requirements have spurred schools, districts, and states to seek innovative and equitable ways to evaluate teachers. Teacher evaluation, whether it is tied to student achievement, student learning, classroom observation, school-wide achievement, or a combination of all these components, can be a complex process to navigate. As teacher evaluation becomes more and more critical to the current education landscape, teachers are increasingly concerned about taking ownership of their own evaluation process.
In this course, teachers will learn a framework for taking ownership of their evaluation process by becoming familiar with their evaluation requirements and components and purposefully planning and preparing for a successful evaluation. This course provides a roadmap for navigating the teacher evaluation process while maintaining a focus on student learning regardless of the system being implemented.
