SPECIAL NEEDS AND EDUCATION
Currently there are over 6 to 7 million children with disabilities receiving special education services in public schools across the United States. This number is on the rise and teaching these students requires a different toolbox to support their academic and social success. Effective teaching of special needs children requires knowledge of individual and diverse needs, patience, an understanding of the law and procedures, and effective teaching strategies. This practical survey course includes relevant topics, strategies, and helpful practices designed to give today's educational practitioner the edge to best serve students with special needs.
